Who we are

Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd is an eclectic collection of experts pulling together to provide support and building services across London and the south of England. As a growing team of engineers, tradespeople, project managers and other skilled workers, we work on buildings of every kind, from ordinary homes through offices and workshops to large factories and airports. We tackle projects of every size, from installing a kitchen sink to gutting an office block.

Over the last ten years, we have worked with dozens of businesses, property owners and private landlords to ensure that the fabric and materials of their buildings are being properly cared for and maintained. We can manage every aspect of the property, from fire safety compliance to PAT testing, installing plumbing to repairing the roof.

As our skill set continues to grow, we are constantly tackling the new challenges facilities management presents. We offer a complete installation, support and repair service throughout the building lifecycle, including both planned preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.

Richard Smith - Director

Before launching Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in 2009, Richard Smith worked as an Air Conditioning Engineer for various companies including HVAC Ltd and Worthington Nicholls Ltd. This industry experience has proved invaluable in his current role as it has allowed him to understand from the ground level up what exactly is required for a successful project to come together on time and within an allotted budget. As a director at FMS he has been instrumental in securing new business, including working on smaller projects in the home counties through to multi million pound renovations in Central London. As the company continues to grow, he looks forward to building on established strengths to offer a more complete facilities management service to customers.

Graham Cowling - Director

Prior to founding the company with Richard in 2009, he worked as an Air Conditioning Engineer for 6 years. The experience working for companies such as Worthington Nichols and HVAC Ltd lead to his determination to create a company that would provide a complete package to the client, a facilities management company that could design, install, commission and maintain M&E systems. As the company continues its growth within this industry he strives to maintain his belief in the company’s high standard of client satisfaction as well as its continually increasing scope of services offered.

Hayley Becque - Office Manager
I started with Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in July 2014 as the Office Manager. As the company has grown my responsibilities have changed more towards the HR side of the business. This has led me to start studying for my CIPD,  nearly completing my Level 3 and looking to continue on to study my Level 5.  I look forward to being able to support the company as it continues to grow.
Sophie Bower - Accounts Manager

I started working for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in August 2015. I first started at the company as the Office Administrator and eventually took on the role as the accounts administrator, as the company grew I took on more and more responsibility and now work along side the accountant as the Accounts Manager. I am currently studying my AAT level 2 and looking to start Level 3 soon. I look forward to growing and building a valuable accounts team here at Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd.

Michaela Perkins - Accounts Assistant
I started working for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in August 2017 as an Accounts Administrator. Prior to this I have 10 years experience working with in Accounts. I am starting my AAT Level 2 soon and looking forward to furthering my career here at Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd as it continues to grow.
Mark Paine - Senior Project Manager

I started working for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in 2011. I first started off as an Electrician, as the company grew my responsibilities progressed towards Project Management. My current position is Senior Project Manager and I have recently completed Prince 2 Foundation and Practitioner. My main tasks are working closely with Directors, Managers and Engineers to assist with achieving company objectives and standards. Maintaining a strong working relationship with client management is required to facilitate the Co-ordination and the execution of our projects. I look forward to supporting the company as we continue to grow.

Amman Gill - Project Manager

I am a highly experienced HVAC-R Technician with 13 years experience in this field. My responsibilities range from managing Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd high visibility projects focusing in hotel refurbishments in London where I lead contractor teams across day to day project operations. In addition to this, I liaise with external contractors and clients to ensure business needs are catered for during the planning, execution and completion of projects.

With a passion for Process Development and Program/Project Management, My core focus is to ensure Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd projects are not only delivered on time and within budget but also manages installations and construction work to ensure efficient standards of workmanship are maintained. I completed an apprenticeship that combined formal studies with work and on-the-job training and holds a nationally recognised Certificate III Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration from TAFE Australia.

Dan Holmes - Operations Manager
I began working for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in 2014, following completion of my Electrical Installation qualification. Prior to 2014, I worked for IBM for 10 years, in both financial and Account Management positions. Since moving into the Facilities Management sector with Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd, I have worked across both Service and Project departments. I am Prince 2 qualified with a good knowledge of the business and am striving to support the company through the current growth period. My current role as Operations Manager is heavily involved in the day-to-day project works.
Lola Doe - Operations Administrator

I started working for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in January 2017. I first started off as an apprentice working towards qualifying in level 2 in Business Admin which I have now successfully completed. During the first few months with Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd I worked closely with Hayley who is the Office Manager and as the company has grown, my responsibilities have also. I am now the Operations Administrator working alongside and supporting the Projects Department. I am looking forward to continuing my studies and making a difference within the company as it continues to grow.

Callum Swyer - Senior HVAC Engineer

I started working for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in 2016. After working as a sub contractor for various companies for around 8 years I have racked up a lot of experience in my trade and take great pride in my work. I have worked all over the UK and even completed projects in France. I work closely with customers and as the on site representative of Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd, I am always willing to go the extra mile in order to get projects completed on time and to a high standard.

Luke Foley-Greaves - Senior Electrician
I started working for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in January 2018. I have 10 years experience as a fully qualified Installation Electrician. I was a Site Supervisor for my previous employer, a role I have continued performing at Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd. I have vast experience in industrial, commercial and domestic installations, with a wide range of skill sets. I am currently a Senior Electrical Engineer and work closely with the Project Team and HVAC Engineers. I strive to ensure we meet challenging deadlines and client requirements.
Steve Wheatley - Technical Service Manager

I joined Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in September 2016 as Manager of the Service Department. In my time here I have helped the Service Department double in size, and continue to manage the growth of our quickly expanding client base and wide ranging Facilities Management capabilities. With over 30 years industry experience I enjoy working for this unique company which has a professional approach to business with excellent customer relationships while keeping a family run atmosphere.

Gavin Brook - Compliance Service Manager

I joined the team at Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in 2017 bringing my knowledge which I gained from previous experience in the industry. Following 10 years as an Air Conditioning Engineer, I moved onto the management of large scale FM contracts for organisations which included the NHS, local authorities and universities. My role at Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd incorporates aspects of the day to day running of service and maintenance contracts, seeking and securing new business and ensuring that the company is compliant with regulations and continues to meet industry standards. I maintain a client-led and client-focused approach and I am committed to maintain and raise the standard of services delivered by Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd.

Lucy Ashley - Service Administrator

started working for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in September 2018. I previously worked within the oil and civil engineering industry where I worked underneath the Quantity Surveyor. I have always enjoyed working in a ‘hands-on’ environment where I can continuously put my knowledge to the test and learn new skills. I now work in the service department for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd alongside Steve the Technical Service Manager and Gavin the Compliance Manager. I look forward to what the future may hold in this continuously growing company and hope I can progress further within the department.

Service Supervisor - Alexis Mensa-Bonsu

I started working for Facilities Management (Southern) Ltd in April 2017. I was first employed as a refrigeration and air-conditioning engineer but with my previous experience as a supervisor/project manager, I quickly progressed to my current role as the maintenance supervisor for the service department. I help to ensure the smooth running of our maintenance and servicing contracts. With my past experience in the installation and commissioning of various air-conditioning systems. I also help with commissioning within the projects side of the company. I coordinate with the projects team to ensure customer satisfaction and support with regards to transitioning from our installations into our maintenance contracts.
