The Senior Electrical Engineer plays a key role in developing the Trainee Engineers and ensuring all projects and contract commitments run smoothly. The Senior Electrical Engineer works closely with the Trainee Engineers giving vital experience and on-site training.
Duties, responsibilities and attributes
Key duties include
Work closely with Directors, office manager and other engineers to allow the achievement of Company objectives and standards
Establish the working relationship with client management needed to facilitate the Co-ordination and execution of project work, such that the operational impact to the client is minimised
Production of RAMS and ensuring the working team has read and signed them
Reviews of detailed design drawing and specifications.
Liaise with collaborators, partners, technology developers and suppliers.
Generation of reports as required for Project and Management meetings.
Prepare and submit reports on the progress and status of the project ensuring scheduled targets are always met
Maintain effective and on-going communications with clients and contractor management teams
Develop and train both experienced and non-experienced engineers
Lead by example to guide junior members of staff and other team members
Work within required legislation and develop paper work for project closure
Ensure the store of materials on site and off site is stocked and clean.
Drive change through continuous improvement
Ensure on site compliance with all aspects of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
Personal Attributes required
Communication Skills: The Senior Electrical Engineer will be collaborating with co-workers, management, direct reports and clients. They will need to be able to listen and communicate effectively with a presentable and pleasant manner. They must show strong written and verbal communication skills with a fluency in English, both spoken and written with the added ability to be able to present to and lead a group.
Attention to Detail: The Senior Electrical Engineer must be able to follow all standard operating procedures, policies and compliance standards. A careful and methodical approach to work with good practical thought process is essential. From ordering the correct stock item to complying with procedures, standards and policies, making sure every detail is right is crucial to your work. This attention to detail should be emphasised to all colleagues at all times.

Must have at least 10 years’ experience in the Electrical field
High GCSE or similar standard in English, Math and/or IT
Possible lone working
On site and office based
Travel includes overnight stop overs

This job is very demanding both physically and mentally, it requires the ability to cope with stressful situations and be able to adapt to the day to day requirements of the job.
You will be in charge and responsible for any Trainee Engineers and Contract Administrator
